There are really two great amusement parks in Oregon, with long-standing histories of entertaining visitors and families. Silverton Park was established in 1969 and is one of the most well-known and well-loved amusement parks in the world. The old-fashioned rides and roller coasters are still in place, though they no longer have the speed bumps or other features that made them so thrilling in their early days. It was sold to another owner in the mid ’80s, who began a similar refurbishment of the park, adding new rides and landscaping, as well as updating some of the older rides. Today, it is one of Oregon’s best family attractions.
The other great amusement park in Oregon is operatorships located in Tigard: The Park, which has a name that is synonymous with adventure and fun-loving folks, has been operating since 1950. Over that time, it has become one of Oregon’s top attractions, offering a wide range of rides, games, shops, food stands, gift shops, and even a restaurant. In fact, it had become so popular that it was considered to be bought by another park operator in 2021. Now it will be back to its original splendor, ready to reopen again in the summer of 2021.
Both Silverton Park and the newer Riverton Park: offer many of the same things that you would find at any other theme park. The biggest difference is their locations. Silverton Park is right on the water, allowing for close access to the natural attractions while riding on the water’s waves. The other big attraction is the dinosaur attraction at the nearby Amusement Park. Here you’ll have the opportunity to feed dinosaur eggs, view a real dinosaur in action, get a closer look at the various dinosaur toys that are part of this line, and even get a real chance to pet one!

Riverton Park is located on the banks of the Columbia River: near the state capitol. Here you will find two full-fledged water parks: the Wave Pool and the Tree Adventure Park.
